With this carefully crafted itinerary, you can see the highlights of Europe without needing months on the road. Whether you’re in a campervan or motorhome, this route is designed to inspire and help you make the most of your adventure.
Your 2-Week European Road Trip Itinerary
The key to any successful road trip is planning. Below, you’ll find a detailed itinerary for a 2-week journey through Europe, packed with must-see destinations. While Europe has endless wonders to explore, this route ensures you experience the best of the continent, even if you’re short on time.
Day 1: London to Bruges
Start your journey by driving from London to Dover. Take time to explore the iconic Dover Castle and admire the famous White Cliffs of Dover before catching the ferry to continental Europe. Once in France, head to Belgium and arrive in the picturesque city of Bruges.
Day 2: Exploring Bruges
Spend the morning taking in the old town of Bruges (don’t miss the Basilica of the Holy Blood and the Church of Our Lady), take a bike tour to soak up the sights of the city or pop into a pub just off the Market square with 300 different beers! Bar hopping in this central city square is a great way to end the night and it’s always bustling with tourists and locals alike.
Day 3: Arrival in Amsterdam
Amsterdam is best explored by bicycle. Rent one and head into the city centre to visit the Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank House, or the Heineken Brewery. In the evening, experience the vibrant nightlife around Leidseplein Square before returning to your campsite.

Day 4: Amsterdam Highlights
Amsterdam is recognised as one of the most liberal cities in the world. Alternative fashion and alternative lifestyle is weaved into national culture and it’s the sort of laid-back, open-minded city where anything goes. We like to think that everyone has a place to fit in here, so you’ll be sure to have a great time.
Amsterdam is famed for its red light district and the many “coffee shops” but beyond that, there’s also some amazing sights and incredible city tours; you’ll come across lovely canals, endless cycling routes (bikes are the main mode of transport for many locals), awesome architecture and a centre that is rich in history and culture.
This is one of our favourite cities, and you will be able to stay overnight at Camping Zeeburg. It’s the perfect place to make a base for a couple of night. Some of our favourite sights and attractions in the city include the red light district area for fascination alone, the Anne Frank Museum, city canal tour or hire boats, the Heineken Beer factory, the Van Gogh museum, the Bols Museum or Vondelpark which is great for exploring on two wheels.
Day 5: On to Germany
Today, you’ll travel from Amsterdam, passing windmills and tulip fields, before crossing into Germany. Head south to Würzburg, the gateway to the Romantic Road. This region is famous for its stunning scenery and historic landmarks, and it’s also the heart of the Franken wine-growing area. Be sure to enjoy a glass of local wine at a restaurant in the market square.
Day 6: Bavaria and Neuschwanstein Castle
Rise early and make tracks for Munich, the capital of Bavaria. Once you arrive in Munich make sure you visit the Glockenspiel, the German Beer Halls (Home of Oktoberfest), and the Eisbach River (where you can surf all year round). Plus you don’t want to miss the English Garden and the main square the Marienplatz where all the action happens.
Marienplatz is definitely worth visiting both in the day and at night too if you’ve got the time as it’s buzzing with people in the afternoon and the buildings light up beautifully at night, perfect for night time photography fans who want to capture a great shot.
A great day trip if also want is a visit to the Schloss Neuschwanstein, an amazing 19th Century Romanesque Revival castle sitting atop a hill above the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen. Schloss Neuschwanstein is the inspiration behind the iconic Walt Disney castle so it’s truly a fairytale sight.
Drive along the Romantic Road to Neuschwanstein Castle, near the Austrian border. You’ll spot this fairy-tale castle long before you arrive. Stop in some of the charming German villages along the way for a truly magical experience.

Day 7: The Alps
Continue your journey into Austria and the breathtaking Alps. Your next stop is the beautiful city of Innsbruck, surrounded by Europe’s largest mountain range.
Day 8: Into Italy
From Innsbruck, head south into Italy. Your destination is the enchanting city of Venice.
Day 9: Discovering Venice
Take a boat from the mainland to Venice and spend the day exploring its iconic waterways. Don’t miss the Basilica di San Marco and the Rialto Bridge, two of the city’s most famous landmarks.
Day 10: The French Riviera
Travel west to the French Riviera, where the rich and famous dock their luxury yachts. Relax on the beaches of St. Tropez or enjoy people-watching in Monaco. There are plenty of campsites in the area, so you can enjoy the glamour without the need for formal attire.
Days 11-13: Wine Regions of France
Head north and explore the renowned wine regions of Provence, Rhone, Burgundy, and Champagne. Stay at local vineyards, sample exquisite wines, and get to know the friendly locals and their delicious produce.
Day 14: Return to England
Drive back to Calais and cross the English Channel, bringing your unforgettable 2-week European road trip to a close.
Final Thoughts
This 2-week road trip itinerary is perfect for travellers who want to experience the best of Europe in a short amount of time. Whether you’re exploring historic cities, scenic drives, or world-famous wine regions, this journey promises adventure, culture, and unforgettable memories.
