Road Trip Magic: How a Campervan Adventure to Disneyland Paris Creates Unforgettable Family Memories

Topics Covered by this Post

If you’re dreaming of a truly unforgettable family holiday, why not hit the road and create magical memories at Disneyland Paris? Imagine exploring the Sleeping Beauty Castle, meeting beloved characters like Mickey Mouse or Elsa, and enjoying the freedom of the open road. With a campervan or motorhome, you’ll save on flights and hotels while experiencing the joy of a European road trip, all at your own pace.

Paris Is Closer Than You Think

You might be surprised by how close Disneyland Paris actually is. At just 306 miles from London – including your Eurotunnel crossing – it’s over 100 miles shorter than driving from London to Edinburgh. That means less time travelling and more time making memories!

    Your Home on Wheels

A campervan or motorhome turns your journey into part of the adventure. Opt for a spacious family motorhome, which can comfortably seat and sleep up to seven people. With cosy bunk beds, a double loft bed, and flexible sleeping arrangements in the living area, everyone will have their own space.

Everything you need is on board—literally! Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, hob, and fridge/freezer, plus a combined washroom with a toilet, basin, and shower. There’s even ample storage for luggage, so you can pack all the essentials for your trip.

    Crossing the Channel

From London, join the M25 toward Gatwick/M23/M20, then take the M26 and follow the M20 to Eurotunnel at Junction 11a. The journey takes about 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

Booking your motorhome onto the Eurotunnel is simple. Prices range from £130 to £180, covering your vehicle and up to nine passengers. You’ll need your vehicle’s registration number or its size and specifications (typically a Fiat Ducato campervan, 5.5–8m long, diesel-powered). Before you travel, check the latest border regulations and complete any required documents.

Once aboard, relax during the 35-minute crossing under the English Channel. After arriving in Calais, take the A26 toward Lens, then follow the A1 to Paris via Arras. From there, the A104, D943, and D344 will lead you straight to Disneyland Paris. The magic begins the moment you arrive!

    Planning Your Journey

To make the most of your visit, consider staying at a nearby campsite. Caravanning des 4 Vents in Cricqueboeuf-en-Brie is a fantastic option—just 25 minutes from Disneyland Paris. This beautifully landscaped site features a pool, playground, and easy access to a railway station for day trips into central Paris.

Beyond Disney: Exploring Paris and Chantilly

No trip to the region is complete without experiencing the wonders of Paris. Marvel at the Eiffel Tower, stroll along the Seine, and soak up the charm of a classic Parisian café.

For a touch of history and elegance, visit Chantilly, northeast of Paris. The stunning Château de Chantilly is surrounded by lush gardens, perfect for exploring by bike, golf cart, or even pedalo. Don’t miss the Great Stables, home to the Museum of the Horse, or a demonstration of how the famous Chantilly whipped cream is made.
